Lessons may be paid weekly or monthly.

• 30 minute lessons: $35
  beginners and students under 10

• 45 minute lessons: $40
  advancing and older students

• Hour lessons: $45
  advanced students

THE VIOLIN

RENTING
Recommended for beginners
Renting allows you the option to move on, hassle-free, if a student stops playing. Also, there are eight sizes with each lasting a year or two, depending on how quickly the student grows. Getting fitted for the correct size is important for posture and comfort. I will let you know which size you need at the trial lesson. Rental contracts typically allow you to swap sizes at any time at no charge.
INSURANCE: Violins are delicate and life happens. Even simple repairs can get expensive. Most rental contracts include insurance.

PURCHASING
Recommended for students in a FULL violin
Under $400, violins tend to run from not great to not playable. There are exceptions but unless you already play and can try the instrument, it's hard to know what you’re getting so do make sure a return policy is offered*. Good quality, beginner instruments typically start in the $400–$800 price range, and advanced student instruments around $1000. Private sale instruments are often less expensive but there are benefits to purchasing from a reputable violin shop (return policies, guarantees, trade-in options).
